1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using AnkiLock ("Service", "we", "us", or "our"), including our mobile application and Anki desktop add-on, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

2. Description of Service

AnkiLock is a productivity tool designed to help users maintain study habits by integrating with Anki (flashcard software). The Service provides:

Synchronization of Anki study statistics to your mobile device.
App blocking functionality ("Shields") to restrict access to distracting apps until study goals are met.
Mobile Study Verification: The ability to unlock blocked apps by completing designated study time in AnkiMobile, monitored via Apple's DeviceActivity framework.
Goal tracking and result visualization.
Notifications and reminders.

You acknowledge that AnkiLock is not affiliated with or endorsed by Ankitects Pty Ltd, AnkiWeb, or the official Anki application.

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

Provide accurate and complete information.
Keep your password secure.
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use AnkiLock only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:

Attempt to bypass or exploit the app blocking features for malicious purposes.
Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
Use the Service to harass others or distribute harmful content.
Abuse the communication features (e.g., spamming friend requests or excessive cheer notifications).

5. Social Features

AnkiLock includes optional social features such as Friends, Leaderboards, and Cheers.

Friend Codes: You are responsible for who you share your Friend Code with. Only share it with users you trust.
User Interactions: AnkiLock is not responsible for the conduct of other users you choose to connect with. We reserve the right to ban users who abuse these features.
Visibility: By adding a friend, you consent to sharing your display name, daily progress, and streak status with them.

6. Donations

AnkiLock is provided as a free service. Users may optionally choose to make a donation to support the development of the application.

Free Service: All features of AnkiLock are free to use.
Donations: Payments made to "Support AnkiLock" are voluntary donations. These transactions do not grant exclusive access to features or additional services. They are simply a way to show appreciation and support the project.
Refunds: Refunds are subject to Apple's App Store refund policies. We cannot issue refunds directly.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by AnkiLock and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

8. Disclaimer

AnkiLock is a productivity aid. We do not guarantee specific academic results or learning outcomes. The effectiveness of the Service depends on your own study habits and dedication.

The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AnkiLock shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data or temporary inability to access blocked apps.

10. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using AnkiLock, you consent to the collection and use of information as detailed therein.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users of the Service, us, or third parties, or for any other reason in our sole discretion.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by posting the new Terms on this page. Your continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
